The establishment of Atal Tinkering Laboratory - A flagship scheme of Niti Aayog of Government of India is continuing to ignite the fire of innovation in the students. The team of Umar Faisal, Satyam Gupta and Sawant Kumar from Class 9 of Vidya Vihar Residential School was selected amongst the Top 15 teams across India in the Avishkaar Makeathon Final. Their project provided solutions for a Smart City using E-Series Brain, Arduino Microcontrollers and various Sensors. The Final round was held on 16th of December at Thyagaraja Sports Complex, New Delhi. Prior to this, the team cleared Ideate Stage and Prototype Stage to finally make it amongst the Top 75 Teams selected for the Showcase Stage at New Delhi. The project was heavily appreciated by the Judges, Media and Organizers. The management congratulates the Team members and their mentors Mr. Rahul Shandilya, Mr. Koushik Roy & Mr. Sudip Chakroborty.

The team of Rivam Raj and Mayank from Class 12 of Vidya Vihar Residential School were selected amongst the Top 6 teams in the International Robotics Challenge of IIT, Bombay. Their project MESHMERIZE was to design a Line Follower robot that could successfully traverse a maze by taking visual instructions at checkpoints. They did it using E-Series Brain and various sensors. The Final rounds were held between 14th and 16th of December 2018 during Techfest at IIT Bombay. Prior to this, the team cleared National Round at the same location. The Zonal round selection event was organised at Kolkata in September.
A team of four boys - Shivam(2777) Saket(2355), Suman Chowdhary(2864) & Gunjan(2736) -participated in CBSE cluster meet which was held at Delhi Public School in Allahabad. Gunjan Kumar bagged a bronze medal in the long jump. On the other hand, the VVRS team brought glory to the school by securing silver medal in under 14 relay race.
The students of Vidya Vihar brought laurels to the school by qualifying for the national level in the 23rd National Children Science Congress.The topic of the project was 'Study of limnobiotic parameters of a pond ecosystem with respect to weather variation'. Master Abhinay (Group Leader) gave an extra ordinary performance in Mohali and he was praised by all and sundry. The other members of this prodigious team were Aditya Ajay,Md.Raghiv,Rupesh Kumar and Adarsh Kumar. The guide teacher was Mr.Nikhil Ranjan. The moments were cherished by all.
An 'Inter-district Quiz Competition' was organized by Jawahar Navoday Vidyalay Alumni Association Garhbanaili. Vidya Vihar quiz team came first and won a cash prize of Rs.20000. The stars who dazzled in the quiz were Divya Prakash(2339) and Gaurav Kumar Gautam(2865).
Wing commander Rawat, Wing Commander Roshan and Lieutenant Vikrant arrived at VVRS on 3rd Jan 2016 with Mobile Exhibition atop a modern bus to motivate the students to join Indian Air Force. The bus showcased various highly technologically developed aircrafts used in IAF. Besides, it also had Flight Stimulator which gave the feel of flying an air craft. Students along with Jt. Director found it awesome.
The quiz team of our school, consisting of Vishwajeet (10-C) , Rupesh (10-A) and Shubham (10-A), qualified for the national level of CBSE Heritage Quiz which was held on 6th January 2016 at Sanskriti School in Delhi. These quiz wizards gave an extra ordinary performance which catapulted them to the 5th position nationally in the final.
Mr. K.N. Muthana (Additional Director General of NCC),SSS Rivji (commanding officer)and Major Subhash Chandra (subedar) visited VVRS. They interacted with the cadets and acquainted them with the three bodies of military recruitment apart from scope and need of youth in the army. Major Muthhana exhorted the students to serve the nation by joining Indian army. He appreciated and applauded the co-curricular activities which are held in the school. Mr.Guru Charan Singh (NCC Officer) played a major role in the organization of the event.
Proficiency test for the old students and entrance test for new students were held. Proficiency test parameters help in deciding the best mix of students in a class for optimum learning.
It was celebrated with patriotic fervor. Honorable Joint Director, R. K. Paul hoisted the flag amidst the white carpet of dense fog just above ground.
The students of class nine organized Saraswati Puja with religious fervour. They executed all the responsibilities successfully under the guidance of teachers. A community Bhoj for all on 5th February marked the end of the celebration.

Hollywood and Bollywood fame Mr. Qaiser Jani electrified the campus with his presence. He interacted with the students and wished for the excellence in the sphere of their choice . His motivational speech, in the garb of Gandhijee, mesmerized everyone and created the ambience of Gandhian Era.
The new entrance presented a colourful programme on Freshers' night and enthralled everyone with their performance. It was followed by Annual Academic Award Ceremony. The recipients of Abhishek Shrestha Excellence Award were Abhishek Anand(2729) and Md.Sahil(2943).
A wide spectrum of qualitative cultural programme was presented by the boarders of three houses, covering all the aspects of human values. Beautiful movements in dance and the wit used in English skit were served on the platter with a difference.
A three-day workshop was conducted by Ganga Global Institute of Teacher Education, Begusarai. The workshop dealt with the capacity building programme on pedagogy strategies with special focus on interdisciplinary approach, classroom management, monitoring new staff and motivating experienced staff, inculcating counseling skill in teachers, career counseling, examination reform and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation. The resource persons were Md. Gufran, Mr. Mangaldeep Pandey and Mr. D.P. Sahu.
The boarders of Vidya Vihar came to know what “luck, labor and chance” meant for this KBC celebrity who with his humble and candid nature stole the hearts of the students. With the image of a man next door, he gave the message of not to get swayed by the glory of fame. The anchor of this programme was Dr. Gopal Jha.
The combined 'House Day' of Dhruv, Renu, Bose and Rajendra was celebrated with enthusiasm. Students of all the four houses staged various cultural items like songs ,dance, skit. The special appearance of Master Vidhan, an alumnus of V.V.R.S made the evening more vibrant with his anecdotes.
In pursuance of the campaign launched around the globe to keep the Mother Earth green, the students of classes 10 to 12 participated enthusiastically in the plantation drive and planted saplings on the campus.
With the feeling of service to the nation first, the whole school was engaged in the relief work for the flood victims of Bihar. The district administration praised the student for their noble gesture.
The students of Vidya Vihar took the oath of keeping the environment clean and pollution free. The keywords of the oath were Re-use, Reduced and Recycle.
Reminiscing freedom movement various activities were held in and outside the campus to commemorate the sacrifices of martyrs. Student participated in Prabhat Pheri and visited the village of freedom fighter Bhola Paswan Shastri afterwards.
Independence day was celebrated with great pomp and show as it coincided with freedom fortnight celebration of “Azadi 70-Yaad Karo Qurbani”. Honorable Director hoisted the flag.
The students of all these houses presented a spectacular programme which was appreciated by the principal for its novelty.
There was a demo on firefighting by the fire department to equip the students to deal with unforseen circumstances.
A dance competition was organized on this day by the boarders of senior houses. Each house had a different theme which they presented through songs and dances.
Teachers' Day was celebrated with a new zeal and fervour as the school felicitated the founder teachers and staff on the completion of 20 years of the school. The joyous atmosphere of the school was further heightened by celebrating the 81st birthday of the mentor of the school Mr. K.N. Vasudevan. A gala programme was organized on this day in which Master Nitesh Sharma, an alumnus and choreographer, expressed his gratitude and emotions for the Director in a dance form. His birthday was marked by the presence of a galaxy of Netarhat Alumni .The fete organized on this day was a bonanza for the students. The teachers who were honoured by the school management on this day were Mr. Digendra Nath Chaudhary, Mr. Chandra Kant Jha,Mr. Nikhil Ranjan & Mr. Bipin Kumar Singh.
A workshop on Co-Scholastic aspect of CCE for teachers was conducted by CBSE on 16th September, 2016 in the Conference Hall of the school. About hundred teachers of neighboring districts attended the work shop.
A motivational programme was organized in the school to make the students aware of their strength and weakness. It was organised by Mr. Deepak Kumar. The motivational speech and question hour were held by Bhai Bharat Bhusan ji and Behen Brahmkumari Mukut Mani ji.
The session was held by Mr. Nirala K. Singh, a prominent Charted Accountant, for the students of classes 10 to 12 to satisfy their queries related to the field of Charted Accountancy. He briefed the students about the preparation, examination procedures etc. He also set examples of many CAs who have seen the bright future in it and selected it as their career.
The staff management meeting was addressed by the Trustees of The Netarhat Alumni Educational Trust. The trustees Mr. Jawahar Thakur, Mr. Navin Thakur & Mr. Sudhir Jha praised the glorious past and flourishing present of the school. Several issues were discussed for the all round development of every individual student of the school. The honorable Secretary and The Joint Director also shared their opinion. The teachers too got opportunity to express their ideas for engaging students mentally and physically in different activities at large. It was presided by the Honorable Chairman, Dr. Ratneshwar Mishra.
Two groups out of eight were selected from our school for state level. From class 10, the model of Aditya Raj’s group was selected under the title “Study of Traditional Chulha in Variation to Fuel and its Health Impact”, guided by Mr. Nikhil Ranjan. The model of Ayush Raj’s group from class 9 under the title “Wind Energy” was selected. The guide teachers were Mr. Kaushik Roy and Mr. Sudeep Chakraborty. The district level selection was held at Zila School, Purnia.
The Team Members were Mannu S Aanand (Captain), Anubhav kumar, Ajit kumar, Ishu Ishan, Ashutosh Kamal, Rishabh Anand, Ankit kumar(Goalkeeper), Adarsh Gaurav, Vivek Kumar kejriwal , Harsh kumar, Ashish Kumar. The team was coached by our PTI Naib Subedar N K Yadav. The venue of the championship was Chinmaya Vidyalay, Bokaro. The first League clash was with GGPS, Chas wherein VVRS won impressively by 13-1. The 2nd League match was with GGPS (Bokaro Sector 5) wherein VVRS won by 14-3. However, 3rd League match with Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro was lost by 6-12. The team qualified for Semi Finals based on 2 league wins. The Semi Final match with DBMS, Kadma, Jamshedpur was won by 18-10 to set up Final Clash with Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro on their home turf. Ultimately, We won the final by 13-12 in a very high voltage match to become East Zone Handball Champions. The National Competition is scheduled in December at Varanasi.
VVRS hosted a week long high-voltage cricketing action. The players were hosted in the campus during the duration of the tournament. The Winner Team won a cash prize of Rs. 55000 while the runner-up team won Rs. 33000. Totally 23 teams participated and altogether 48 matches were played. MBTA Islamia Senior Secondary School, Katihar was the champion.
The Team VVRS has Qualified for National Children Science Congress at the state camp organized at Gopalganj. The team came second in Quiz & Painting Event.
VVRS has qualified for the Final Round of Atal Tinkering Lab Selection by Niti Aayog. Only 6 schools from Bihar has been selected for the same. Nationally 13000 teams participated and only 500 are in the final round.
